March 2025 Feature Update

We're excited to announce several powerful new features and improvements to enhance your Mediagraph experience. In addition to our frequent small improvements, we're making our robust collaboration tools even better with more flexible Lightbox administration options and improved Project management capabilities.

Project/Lightbox Sync: Streamlined Collaboration

Projects have always offered an easy way to create multiple Lightboxes with the same settings. Now, with Project Sync, you can manage these settings at the Project level and have them automatically inherited by all child Lightboxes:

• Synchronize membership settings across your entire Project
• Apply permission overrides consistently
• Manage upload abilities from a single location

Sync is now enabled by default for all new Projects and Lightboxes. For existing projects, you'll need to:

1. Enable sync in the parent Project
2. Enable inheritance in each contained Lightbox

Enhanced Lightbox Administration

Transfer Ownership

You can now transfer ownership of a Lightbox—perfect for when projects change hands or team composition shifts.

Shared Administration with Role-Based Permissions

We've introduced a new schema for Lightbox administration that provides greater flexibility and improved collaboration:

• Owner: The only person who can delete the Lightbox. Uploaded files are stored in a folder named for the owner. Only one owner is supported per Lightbox, but ownership can be transferred.
• Admin: Can invite members, override restrictions, manage Share Links, control contribution settings, manage TOC settings, change sequencing, add/remove files, and create bins.
• Editor: Can change default sequencing, add/remove files, and create bins.
• Viewer: Can view and make comments, and download if allowed via permissions override.

Approval for Sharing Improvements

Lightbox admins can now easily review and approve assets for sharing added by other members through an enhanced user interface in the Lightbox Manage panel. This ensures that, in Lightboxes where Member Permissions have been overridden, only the assets an Admin intends to share are downloadable.

Additional Improvements

• Custom Metadata Logging: All changes to custom metadata are now captured and made available in asset logs.
• Custom Sort Order in Collections Tree: The collections tree in the left-hand sidebar now supports custom sort ordering, matching the functionality already available in the table of contents view.
• Ongoing Optimizations: As always, we continue to make performance improvements, minor feature updates and bug fixes throughout the application.
