Lightroom CC Integration

Our new Adobe Lightroom CC integration brings a new world of functionality to Mediagraph. All users may connect their Mediagraph accounts to their existing Lightroom cloud accounts, for no additional charge. There are several seamless workflows that this integration enables.

  • Cloud-to-cloud transfer (crossloading) of selected files to or from your Lightroom account. No need for download to your computer.
  • Easily edit Mediagraph files with Lightroom and send back to Mediagraph as new versions, or as new files.
  • Create fast and efficient full raw file workflow in the cloud.
  • Edit videos as well. Send videos to Lightroom to quickly trim, rotate, and color grade.

Connected Albums

The new Lightroom integration relies on Lightroom's "Connections". This feature allows a Mediagraph Lightbox to be connected directly to an Album that lives in Lightroom. The connection supports two-way transfers. Files in either application can be crossloaded to the other. This two-way integration also supports "round-tripping" files from Mediagraph. It can detect when files have been added or modified in Lightroom, and bring the new files in if desired (depending on the Member's permissions.)

Permission controlled, multi-user

The connection between Lightroom and Mediagraph is governed by your permissions on Mediagraph. Members may only send files to Lightroom which they have permission to download (and may only send files at the resolution in that permission.)

Members may only send from Lightroom into Mediagraph through existing upload permissions. If a member has permission to upload to a Lightbox, then they have the ability to bring new files in from the connected album in Lightroom.

Likewise, the ability to create new versions of existing files in Mediagraph is governed by the existing administrative permissions.

Integrated image processing

The Lightroom integration makes Adobe's processing engine a seamless part of Mediagraph workflow. You can make images look fantastic, using the tools you are already familiar with. the tight integration makes it feel almost like one application.

Raw file workflow in the cloud

Raw file workflow has been an elusive goal for multi-user cloud DAMs. The raw file processing available in most cloud DAMs pales in comparison to the capabilities in Adobe software. And when a normal Adobe integration is available, it requires download of the full file to a local computer, and creates a file management headache.

Mediagraph's Lightroom integration blasts through these barriers, allowing cloud-to-cloud workflow for a handful of images or a thousand-image shoot.

Even better, because Mediagraph is a true multi-user tool, shoots from multiple photographers can be managed from a single seat. A university communications team can watch files roll in from a busy graduation day, make their selections, and process selected images seamlessly. You can even use Mediagraph's camera-to-cloud capability to make the process live entirely in the cloud.

High-speed workflow

The addition of Lightroom raw file processing has some other benefits. Because we can reprocess raw files as needed, we have changed the way we handle incoming raw files. When a large preview is embedded in a raw file, we can use this for display instead of decoding the raw. This makes image upload and selection extremely fast. And the resulting file is an accurate reflection of the settings that were used in camera.
