While it has been a long time since our last feature update announcement, the Mediagraph team has been staying busy with a long list of improvements and new features. In addition to a wide variety of background optimizations and minor changes designed to help things run more smoothly, there have been a number of new features launched. Read below to learn more, and stay tuned for separate updates coming soon about Composable AI, other new integrations, and more.

Canva Integration

We're proud to announce our new Canva integration, available free on all accounts. Your entire Mediagraph library is now accessible directly inside your Canva workspace. The integration works like a native file picker: Browse your Storage Folders, Collections, or Lightboxes, use Mediagraph's search and filter tools to find exactly what you need, and drop assets straight into your design. When you're done, save your finished graphics, social posts, or marketing materials back to Mediagraph so that everything stays organized and ready to share.

Upload Dashboard Improvements

The upload experience has been significantly overhauled. Background improvements have been made to improve reliability of large/interrupted uploads, and the upload dashboard has been redesigned to provide at-a-glance clarity about your upload’s status. If anything goes wrong, upload controls (pause/resume and cancel) are always visible in the header.

Advanced Search Improvements

Our advanced search functionality has been completely redesigned with a set of new features giving users granular control over their searches. You can now search within any metadata field specifically, filter for assets where a specific field is populated or empty, and more. While the updated interface can be used for most searches, the legacy query builder has been retained for use in other complex custom queries.

Custom Metadata Visibility Settings

Administrators now have role-based visibility controls for Custom Meta Fields. Each field can be assigned a minimum role level, ensuring sensitive metadata is only surfaced to users with the appropriate permissions. By default, all fields remain visible to every member, so no changes are required if your current setup works for you.

Artwork/Object Tag Type

A new tag type has been introduced specifically for artwork and object cataloging. Tags of this type support a dedicated set of sub-properties, like creator name, date created, medium, style period, source organization, inventory number, and copyright notice, which align with the existing IPTC standard. New A/O tags are accessible like all other tags: in the tag trees, keywords field, and more.

Creator Tag Autocomplete

The creator tag field now features a faster, more responsive autocomplete interface, making it easier to assign and update asset creator tags.

Credit Line and Copyright Notice in Access Request PDFs

Access Request/Grant receipt PDFs now include both credit line and copyright notice information, ensuring that users who receive approval for asset usage have all the necessary attribution details readily available. To reduce clutter, the fields are hidden by default and are only displayed if they contain metadata.

User First/Last Name Subfolders in Contribution Requests

Contribution requests now organize uploads into subfolders by contributor first and last name rather than email address, resulting in a cleaner, more professional folder structure that's easier to browse. The system uses the contributor's full name when available, falling back to email only when name information isn't provided. This applies to both user group contributions and public standalone contributions.
